He Lived In Waupaca Many Years

News reached Waupaca yesterday of the death of Hiram Robinson at Santa Cruz, Cal., on Wednesday morning, October 30, at 7 a.m., at the age of 64 years.

The deceased was born in Maine on November 15th, 1843, and came to this country at a very early day and settled on a farm in the town of Dayton, where he became one of the most prosperous farmers of this section.  He enlisted in Company A, 8th Wis. Inf., and served his country during the war.

He was married at Dayton to Miss Anna Agusta Emmons, who with one daughter, Mrs. Theron Trindall of Belmont survive him.

About 1892 Mr. Robinson moved to this city where he resided up to two and a half years ago when he went to California to live.  Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made, but it is expected by the relatives in this city that the burial will take place in California.

Chas. Emmons received a telegram from his sister who lives at Santa Cruz, Cal., Thursday morning stating that her husband Hiram Robinson was dead.  He was well known in this city and vicinity having formerly lived in Dayton and in this city for years.  He sold his place near Mirror Lake to his brother-in-law Charles Emmons and moved to California about two years ago.  His brother George Robinson and wife moved to Santa Cruz last spring, and there is also a sister there.

The deceased has had failing health ever since an attack of pneumonia some years ago until the final summons, which came Wednesday.  He was a good citizen, honest and industrious, also a kind husband and was probably sixty-five or seventy years of age.  He leaves besides his wife, a married daughter in the town of Belmont, Mrs. Prindail.  Hiram Robinson was a soldier, having served in Co. 8th, Wis. Vol. Inf.
