News came that J.J. Ross, a prominent farmer living about two miles north of this city, died on Wednesday.  This death was not unexpected as Mr. Ross has been afflicted with heart trouble for some time and that disease with other complications caused his ultimate death.  Mr. Ross was an excellent citizen, friend and neighbor, a kind husband and father.  A wife and two daughters besides many relatives and friends will mourn his loss.  The sorrowing family have the sympathy of all in their deep affliction.  It is a deep affliction for disease to strike down men in their prime of life and usefulness.  H.L. Ross of Harlan, Iowa, a brother of the deceased, was telegraphed for.  Amasa Ross of Sheridan, is another brother.  The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at one o’clock.  Services conducted by Rev. Perry Millar.
