February 21, 1890
Charles
M. Scott, died Tuesday morning, at the age of 82
years, at the residence of his grand-daughter, near this city, Mrs. J.C.
Hughes. The deceased came to Wisconsin
in 1866, from northern New York,
and settled on a farm one mile north of the city. He was a man of noble traits of character and
a member of the M.E. church. Since the
death of his wife about nine years ago, his health and mind had been gradually
failing.
The
children living are Dr. J.O. Scott, and Chas. Scott of this city, Mrs. C.L.
Miller of St. Louis, Mo.,
and Miss Kittie Scott of Chicago. Geo. Wright has telegraphed that on account
of ill health, his mother is unable to be present. Charley is also in Northern Wis. Somewhere,
and a telegram has been unable to find him; but Miss Kittie has arrived from Chicago.
The
funeral will be held today, Rev. Perry Millar conducting the services.
