            Samuel Stout, who has been a resident of this city for the past twenty-six years, passed away at the home of his son, Bert Stout, about nine o’clock Tuesday evening, after a three weeks’ illness with a complication of diseases, pneumonia being the direct cause of death.  Mr. Stout was born in Pennsylvania in 1849 and was, therefore, fifty-eight years of age.  In 1855 the family came to Wisconsin, living in various places and finally moving to New London in 1862.  In 1872 he was married at Royalton to Miss Meroa Strobridge. In 1881 he moved to this city where he has since resided.

            He is survived by four sons and one daughter: Bert C. Stout, of this city; Chas. O. Stout, of Baltimore, Md.; Hugh I. Stout, of Bass Lake; David Stout, of Antigo; and Mrs. Henry Clark, of Muscatine, Iowa.  All of the children were present at his bedside when he passed away except Chas. O. Stout.  He is also survived by three sisters and four brothers:  Mrs. E.T. Taylor, of Wausau; Mrs. C.M. Montgomery, of Crandon; Mrs. Addie Davey, of Plainview, Minn.; W.H. Stout, of Napolean, N. Dakota; John L. Stout, of Gentry, Arkansas; Frank Stout, of this city, and George Stout, of Antigo.

            The funeral services will be held from the Stout residence at 10:00 Friday morning and the interment will be in Lakeside cemetery beside the remains of his wife, who passed away in February, 1903.  Rev. E.T. Erickson of the First Baptist Church conducted the services.

            Among those form away who will attend the funeral are:  Mrs. E.T. Taylor, Wausau; John L. Stout, Gentry, Arkansas; George Stout, Antigo; David Stout, Antigo; Hugh Stout, Bass Lake; Mrs. Henry Clark, Muscatine, Iowa; Chas. O. Stout, Baltimore, Md.

            Samuel Stout died at 8:15 o’clock Tuesday evening at the home of his son Bert on School Street, aged nearly 58 years.

            Deceased was born in Stony Fork Pennsylvania in Oct. 18, 1849.  He came to Wisconsin in 1856 with his parents and settled in Dodge County and moved to New London about 1862.

            In 1872 he united in marriage with Miss Meroe Strobridge at Royalton and this union was blessed with five children all of whom are living:  Estella, Mrs. Henry Clark of Muscatine, Iowa; Bert Stout of this city; Charley of Baltimore, Md., Hugh at Bass Lake; David Stout, who is attending school at Antigo, and lives with his uncle George Stout.

            Mr. Stout moved to this city in 1881.  Mrs. Stout died a little over four years ago, since which time he has made his home with his son Bert.  His health has been failing for two or three years and complications the past few weeks, made his condition serious caused by pneumonia.

            He was a man of kindly nature, quiet and unassuming and loved his family and friends.

            He is survived by the children above noted and four brothers and three sisters, Frank of this city; George of Antigo, W.H. of Napoleon, N.D.; and  J.L. of Arkansas, Mrs. Dewey of Plainview, Minn., Mrs. Cash Montgomery of Crandon, Mrs. E.T. Taylor, Wausau.

            The children were all present, also the brother except W.H. Stout, at the funeral which was this Friday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev. A.T. Erickson officiating.

            Interment at Lake View cemetery.
