William Suits, Old Resident of Maple Grove, Died Jan. 19
William L. Suits, an old resident of Maple Grove, died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at 8 a.m., after a protracted illness. The funeral will be held at Maple Grove Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. L.R. Jones of Manawa Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Baldwins Mills cemetery.
Deceased was born in Illinois on May 25th, 1856, and at the age of one year, came to Baldwins Mills with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Suits, who resided for years on the farm now owned by M.R. Sheldon.
April 11, 1879, he was married at Peshtigo, to Miss Bertha E. Oppor, and after a residence of one year at that place, the couple moved to Maple Grove and purchased the farm now owned by Mrs. Bertha Danielson. Six children were born to this union, Kate, dying in infancy and Eugene in 1901. The four surviving are Edwin C. of Maple Grove; George W. of Waupaca town; Miss Cora at home, and Emma (Mrs. Charles Constance) of Hartford. One sister, Mrs. Phoebe Walsh of Merrill, and six grandchildren, also survive with the widow to mourn the loss of a kind husband, father and upright children.
