The death of James B. Vaughan at Marinette several weeks ago has just come to our notice.  Deceased was sixty-nine years of age at the time of his death and a veteran of the civil war and post commander of Sizer Post.  James Vaughan was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Vaughan of Lind, who for many years resided on the old homestead, occupying the first frame house ever built in this county and on the old stage road form Gills’ Landing to Stevens Point and Wausau.  Deceased is survived by his widow who will be remembered by many old residents as Ellen Topping, their two daughters and a brother Raymond Vaughan of Matton and a sister, Mrs. C.E. Graves of Stewart, Iowa, besides many cousins residing in and about this city.  Mr. Vaughan was a much respected citizen of Marinette where he had lived about twenty-five years.
