Mrs. Hans Yorkson Died Tuesday Morning
Mrs. Hans Yorkson was born in Denmark on Dec. 29, 1853, and died at her home in Waupaca in the early hours of the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1926, at the age of 72 years, one month and 10 days. Death was caused by acute congestion of the lungs. She was ill but a short time.
At the age of nine years, with her parents, she came to the United States, the family settling at Manitowoc. In 1871 she was united in marriage to Hans Yorkson, who brought his bride to Waupaca. From then until called by death she made this city her home. There is left to mourn their great loss her husband; two sons, Charles A. Yorkson of Milwaukee, and Lee I. Yorkson of Wausau; one daughter, Laura of this city; and a brother, Dr. L.A. Hoffmier of Superior.
Throughout her life in Waupaca Mrs. Yorkson took an active interest in church work, she being a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran church. She was a loving wife, a kind mother and a good neighbor, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Her brother and children, from out of the city will be at the funeral which will be held from the Holy Ghost Lutheran church on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. The services will be in charge of the Rev. K.M. Matthiesen, and the pall bearers will be Fred Roche, F.C. Anderson, Chris Pommer, H.J. Rasmussen, Alfred Johnson and Peder Pederson. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Mrs. Yorkson Dies Suddenly
A SEVERE COUGH SINCE CHRISTMAS AND HEART WEAKNESS WAS CAUSE
The entire community was shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Hans Yorkson which occurred Tuesday morning, Feb. 9, at about 6 o’clock. The patient had been afflicted with a severe cough for about four weeks but had not been considered dangerously ill. She walked from her room Monday evening to visit with a neighbor and enjoy a dish of ice cream.
A call t her daughter, Miss Laura Yorkson, to open the window, was the first indication of the seriousness of her condition and she soon sank into unconsciousness and never rallied.
Sena Hansen was born in Denmark Dec. 29, 1853, and came to America with her parents who settled at Manitowoc in 1864. In 1871 she became the wife of Hans Yorkson at Oshkosh and they immediately came to Waupaca where they have since made their home. Besides the sorrowing husband and the daughter Laura, who has been her mother’s constant attendant during her last illness, there are two sons, Charles of Milwaukee and Lee I. Of Wausau who with their wives came at the first summons of the close of a life that has been ever identified with her house and her church. One brother, Dr. L.A. Hoffmier, of Superior, who came Wednesday, also mourns her sudden demise.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock from Holy Ghost church of which she was a most devoted member, Rev. K.M. Matthiesen officiating.
The pall bearers will be F.W. Rosche, F.C. Andersen, Chr. J. Pommer, H.J. Rasmussen, Peder Pedersen and Alfred Johnson. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery.
