ASKS THE JUDGE TO SEND HER CHILDREN TO SPARTA

Mother Unable to Support All of Her Children

A pathetic scene occurred in the office of Judge F.M. Guernsey on Thursday last when Mrs. Frank Blanks, who has been a city charge for some time, appeared with six children ranging in age from eight months to eleven years.  She asked to have four of them sent to Sparta to the home for friendless children.  She thot she might be able to battle for two of the little ones and herself.  She said, “their father is a strong, able-bodied man and was boarding at the wagner hotel.”

The family were brot to this city several weeks ago from Ladysmith where they had been cared for at the expense of Waupaca.  The children seemed unconscious of the seriousness of the the situation. Plans are made to send them to Sparta this week.
