Browne EL Injury
Waupaca Republican
December 9, 1881
Serious
Injury
Last
Wednesday morning Hon. E.L. Browne returned from Milwaukee
where he had been on business for a couple of days. When he had got fairly seated in his buggy,
which was waiting for him at the depot, his horse became frightened and turned
quickly, upsetting the buggy and throwing Mr. Browne out striking on his head
on the frozen ground, laying the scalp open and causing a very severe
injury. Dr. Taylor, who was called to
dress the wound, says that it is a very serious matter and it is hard to tell
just how it may result. We sincerely
hope it may not be so bad as it appears and that he
will speedily recover from the effects of the accident.
