GRAND HIGH DIVE

Took a High Dive at One O’clock Thursday Morning

Hardy Flagg has the night run at the Waupaca Electric Light and Railway company’s power house.  Thursday morning about one o’clock he was adjusting a slash board at the dam over the Waupaca river, it turned on him owing the mad sush of the waters and at the same time it turned he fell over into the pond.  He felt the bottom of the planks some eight or ten feet down and when he came up he was drawn through the waste-way and down the mad rush over boulders galore.  He managed to come out without any broken bones and conscience sensible enough to crawl out.  He got to the engine room as soon as possible where he warmed his wet clothing and staid until his run was through in the morning, when he notified Supt. Fisher of the close call that happened to him.
