CHARLEY LARSON TAKEN FOR A DEER

Some Fool Hunter Shot Charley Larson on Tuesday Near Catawba

Fortunately Only A Flesh Wound In The Arm

Charley Larson the ice man’s son, who works for John Gordon, and who was in the vicinity of Catawba deer hunting on Tuesday, was taken for deer by some fool hunter at least that is what Charley and his friends thought when a bullet passed through the fleshy part of his left arm. A physician was summoned who dressed the wound and Mr. larson came home on the first train Wednesday where he is getting along all right. He says the party who did the shooting could not be found. It was a mighty close call and the wonder is that more are not hurt or killed during the open season for deer; for the reason too many fools with guns and licenses are abroad in the woods ready to shoot most anything that moves forgetting to observe David Crocket’s injunction of, “Be sure you’re right, then go ahead.”
