FREE DELIVERY COMING

The amount of business done at the Waupaca post office during the year ending March 31, 1907, was $10,534..54, which exceeds the amount necessary to entitle this office to have free city delivery.  The increase over the year previous was $1,308.19, when the receipts were $9,226.35.  It is expected that an application will be made at once for the raising of the office to the second class, and after the usual amount of red tape is unwound, free delivery will be an established fact.  Waupaca will be the first city in the county to have free delivery.

Guy T. Gould, post office inspector, was in the city on Sunday, and investigated the local office.  He expressed himself as greatly pleased, and stated that there would be little or no difficulty in getting free delivery.  Petitions asking the department to take steps in the matter will probably be circulated soon.
