The committee appointed for selecting a day for a carnival or potato bake made the following report.

Your committee appointed to report on the potato bake and barbecue day beg to submit the following:  We recommend that a potato bake and barbecue be held annually in Waupaca to be known as the “Waupaca Potato Bake”, to suitably give prominence due the principal farm industry in Central Wisconsin and to inaugurate additional fall festivities.  It is appropriate that Waupaca designate the potato bake, which with full co-operation of all interested, will soon be made a state affair.  We have selected the second Saturday of September as the day the carnival should be held and respectfully refer to the Business Men’s Advancement Association this report for their endorsement so that early steps can be taken to properly advertise this action.  If in the wisdom of the association this report is adopted, we feel that some form of advertising should be decided upon not later than January first.
