Charges Are Made in Constitution And By-Laws –
Potato Bake Recommended
A very enthusiastic meeting of the Waupaca Business Men’s Advancement Association was held in the city hall on Monday evening and the following officers were elected for the ensuing year.
President, George Ghoca
Vice President, John Gordon
Secretary, Peter Holst
Treasurer, F.F. Skinner
The president and vice president and the following committees constitute a board of directors:
Chairman of Finance Committee, J.F. Jardine.
Chairman of Manufacturing Committee, J.E. Cristy
Chairman of Advertising Committee, L.W. Krake
The salary of the secretary was fixed at $50.
The constitution was unanimously amended as follows, with the exception of Sec. 4, which was lost.
Sec. 1. That the constitution be amended by striking out the words, “the first Monday of March” where-ever such words appear, as pertaining to the annual meeting and substituting therefore the words, “the first Monday of December.”
Sec. 2. That Art. 3 of the constitution be amended to read, “the officers of this association shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, who shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting on the first Monday of December of each year and shall hold their offices until their successors are elected. The government of the Association shall be vented in a board of directors, which shall consist of the President, Secretary and the Chairmen of the Finance, Manufacturers and Advertising Committees.
Sec. 3. That Art. 1 of the By-Laws be amended to read, “the President, or in his absence the Vice President, shall preside at all meetings of the association and perform all duties pertaining to the office of President. In the absence of both of these officers a temporary chairman shall be chosen for the meeting.
Sec. 4. That Art. 2 of the By-Laws be amended by striking out the words and figures “One Dollar, $1.00”, and substituting therefore the words and figures “Two Dollars, $2.00”.
