POTATO GROWERS
ORGANIZE
Object Is to
Eliminate Middleman and Save One Profit
The
Wisconsin Potato Growers association of the American Society of Equity met in Grand
Rapids on July 16 and perfected their organization
started last spring. The organization is
patterned after the Tobacco Growers association and the Grain Growers
association of the American Society of Equity now well organized and in
operation in the southern part of the state, the plan of the organization being
to market the potatoes grown in Wisconsin
directly to retail dealers, saving intermediate profits to the growers.
The
organization is incorporated under the state laws, and the following officers
were elected. President,
F.W Ploetz of Coloma; vice president, AA. Brekke of
Rosholt; secretary, J.B. Muller of Grand Rapids;
treasurer, Fred Severson of Hancock.
The directors were named as follows:
James A. Shorey of Coloma, A.C. Elliott of Westfield, together with the
four officers named.
Several
from this section were in attendance.
