State Potato Shipping Rules Will Be Changed.

As a result of a series of conferences held in the important certified seed potato districts of Wisconsin, new potato shipping regulations are recommended.

On the basis of the recommendations made by the conferences of the growers, the seed inspection service of the horticulture department, Wisconsin Experiment Station and the Wisconsin department of Markets have agreed on the following changes which will go into effect at the beginning of 1924 shipping season.

Beginning in 1924, the certificates issued to the growers will bear a serial number.

A loading point inspection will be required at the time of shipment.  This inspection will be supplied under the regulations provided by the Wisconsin department of markets.

The regular official shipping tags (Badger State Brand) will be supplied to the grower or shipper by the inspector at the time the loading point inspection is made.

The official tags issued will be numbered, the number on the car certificate and tag issued by the Wisconsin department of markets to correspond to the number issued to the grower by the inspection service.

All certified seed potato shipments must be graded in accordance with Badger State Brand requirements.
