Celebrate Road Opening Wednesday July 28

Great preparations are being made for the big celebration that is to be staged in Waupaca on Wednesday, July 28. This celebration will mark the opening of the new concrete highway between Waupaca and the Wisconsin Veterans’ Home.

A splendid program has been arranged and music will be furnished throughout the day by Carroll’s Waupaca band. The big event of the day will be a parade of decorated automobiles and floats over the new highway to the Wisconsin Veterans’ Home and back again. In addition to this there will be music, singing and speaking. The program as planned will be as follows:

11: a.m. – Band concert in the park

12:00 m. – Picnic lunch at park

1:00 p.m. – Band concert followed by parade

The celebration will be heavily advertised, and the country for miles around will be billed, and as a result it is expected that one of the largest crowds that has ever been in Waupaca will take in the celebration.
