Curious Accident at
Correspondence of the Daily Northwestern
At the party at the Fountain House, in this place last night, a young man met with a singular accident, which but for the prompt and skillful assistance of Dr. Eddy, might have been speedily fatal.
It seems that a young man by the name of Spurgeon, while eating a dish of oysters, partly swallowed a large piece of tin, which sticking in his throat threatened him with serious consequences unless he was speedily relieved. Dr. Eddy was called and soon had the satisfaction of relieving his patient form his uncomfortable and dangerous condition. I believe the young man has concluded to eschew oyster cans for the future, and operate solely upon their contents. J.W.
