WAUPACA REPUBLICAN POST May 2, 1912 BANKRUPT WANTS RELEASE Charles Churchill, last heard from at Newberg, Oregon, is seeking a release from his debts under the federal bankrupt law. At a hearing before Judge F.A. Geiger, federal judge of the Eastern district of Wisconsin, last Saturday at Milwaukee, the creditors of Mr. Churchill objected to his release from his debts and it is somewhat doubtful if he will secure his desired release. The law firm of E.L. and E.E. Browne is representing the creditors and Atty. L.D. Smith was in Milwaukee Saturday to look after the interest of the creditors. Mr. Churchill will be remembered as the defunct president of the First National Bank of this city, which was sold to the Old National Bank some two years ago after is was discovered that Mr. Churchill was so badly involved. |
