THE WAUPACA REPUBLICAN May 11, 1906 FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF
WAUPACA, WIS. Name Changed From The
Waupaca County National By Vote of Stockholders. The oldest National Bank in the
county which was organized in 1890 under the name of the Waupaca County
National Bank, by a vote of the shareholders May 3, changed the name to the
First National Bank of Waupaca, Wis., which name has been accepted by the
United States Department of Banking and is hereafter to be known and recognized
under the above title. This bank is one
of the solid institutions of the county and has had a steady growth of business
and prosperity ever since it was established.
When it was first established as there was no other National Bank in the
county the stock-holders had considerable personal pride in naming it after the
county, but as other National Banks have been established and our own city has
the county name it was thought advisable to change the name to the First
National Bank of Waupaca, Wis. We
congratulate the stockholders and officers of the bank on their good judgment
as well as the prosperity of their bank.
The prosperity of the banks in Waupaca and other cities and villages of
our county is a positive index of the prosperity of the farming and other
industrial enterprises in our resourceful section of Central Wisconsin. |
