LAABS’ REAL RED RHODE ISLAND REDS WIN PRIZES AT THE NATIONAL SHOW
While Wisconsin had the honor of winning more first places than any other State in the Union, including Canada, W.H. Laabs was the only exhibitor winning a first prize in the Rhode Island classes at the National Poultry Show held in Chicago.
Mr. Laabs won firs and second pullet, best shaped and champion pullet in the class. He also won 4th cock, 5th hen, 3rd young pen and 5th old pen, having 20 birds placed out of 32.
The same week Mr. Laabs had twenty-one head in the Superior show, winning as follows: S.C.: 1st ck., 1, 3, 4 hen, 1, 2, 3 pullet, 3, 5 cockerel, 1 pen. R.C.: 1 ckl., 1, 2, 3 hen, 2 ck., 2 pullet, 2 pen.
