WAUPACA POST

January 16, 1885

Gil Lytle has been in charge of the boot and shoe house of E.P. Conklin the past week.  Business is at a stand still there until several attachments are adjusted.  Mr. Conklin has made a voluntary assignment of his property to his uncle, Mr. J.A. Richardson of Janesville.  We hope everything will yet be satisfactorily adjusted between debtor and creditors, as it seems a good shoe store ought to pay in this city.

Selz, Schwab & Co., Chicago $4,200; Beale, Torry & Co., Milwaukee, $2,160; Amazen & Haley, $700 are the names and amounts of attachments issued against the stocks of boots and shoes of E.P. Conklin.  Mr. Conklin has been invoicing his stock with a view to settlement.  This week with orders from headquarters he is looking over the stock in Waupaca.
