WUPACA GENERAL HOSPITAL ON FULTON STREET HAS SEVERAL PATIENTS
HAS ELECTRIC BATHS FOR PATIENTS’ USE
Proprietor Has Spent Much Money on The Building,
Making a Number of Modifications, Alterations and Improvements
Competent Nurse is in Charge
The Waupaca General Hospital, which has been anticipated for some time, is now a realization. P.C. Frederickson, who has spent much time in hospital work, came to this city some months ago, acquired the Fremont (Tremont) Hotel property on West Fulton street, and immediately proceeded to remodel, renovate, redecorate and fit up the building for the purpose specified. The place is now open and Dr. Mortenson has the first patient in the place. They are under the care of Miss Klein, who came from the Clark hospital at Neenah, to take charge.
The accommodations and equipment consist of the office and consultation rooms, the dining room, kitchens and a reception room on the first floor; on the second floor are at present ten patients’ rooms, a sterilizing room, an operating room and a bath room – all ready for use. At this writing there are thre patients. The top floor will be fitted up also as patients’ rooms and for those who come for medical treatment only. In the basement is to be found an electric bath system comprised in a cabinet, a tub and a shower baths and a massage room. These rooms as well as the bath proper are in charge of Mr. Frederickson, who is a regular masseur.
The building has steam heat, is electrically lighted, is close to the doctors’ offices in the city and should therefore be very convenient.

To Protestant Hospital Association
Weyauwega Institution Closed
The Guardians State Hospital at Weyauwega has been closed as the building has been sold and the Waupaca General Hospital in this city has been leased and will be conducted, hereafter under the name of Protestant Hospital Association. Dr. Theo. Larson will continue in the position of surgeon in charge. The first patient under the new management was Paul Luke of Dale, who underwent an operation for gall stones. Being a member of the association this serious operation will cost the patient nothing except his regular dues of $5 per year.
Waupaca is to be congratulated in having this hospital located in our city and we wish the management success.

REEDSBURG GETS THE HOSPITAL
Guardians of Liberty have Secured Reedsburg Sanitarium
Dr. Theo. Larson has gone to Reedsburg to take charge of several cases that have been transferred from the Protestant Hospital in this city to the Reedsburg Sanitarium, which has been purchased by the Guardians of Liberty of Wisconsin. Dr. Larson will be chief surgeon and will be assisted by Dr. Hastings of Reedsburg. Mrs. Larson and Frances will go within a week or two to join Dr. Larson.
Dr. Larson has made an excellent reputation for surgery since he has resided in this city and his removal from Waupaca is a serious loss to the city. We wish the doctor and his family success and prosperity in their new home.
