WAUPACA COUNTY POST
June 23, 1921
WAUPACA MAY HAVE ARMORY IS NOW BELIEF
CAPT. HOLLY IN MADISON TO CONFER WITH ARMY OFFICIALS
REGARDING A LEASE
The new building on the east side of Main street will on go to completion contrary to the announcement that it was being fitted up for an open air picture show.
It is fully expected that funds from the state will be secured on account of the National Guard unit in this city to secure a lease of this building for drill purposes and for storing the equipment of the Howitzer company for use as an armory. The building would be used on one night a week for this purpose and for dancing parties and similar entertainments it is hoped enough revenue might be derived to net a fair return on the investment.
I is understood that a state architect will be in the city to direct in the construction so the building may be approved for use as an armory.
