The opinion of the firemen, expressed at the meeting Monday night, was that the new bell will have to be hung so it will be in a position to throw its sound waves out over the city instead of leaving them like a dull, sickening thud near the city hall. It would seem that a blacksmith could easily make a wrought iron frame work to hold that bell in a suitable position to have it ring good. Andrew Hanson says he will guarantee to put the bell in shape so it will ring loud enough to be heard or he will not ask a cent. As it is now, that little bell on the Live and Let Live Shop rings louder than the fire bell.
