THE WAUPACA COUNTY POST February 23, 1928 ANGELOS DRIVAS TAKES LEASE
OF PIONEER BLOCK Also Secures Two Year Option
for Purchase – Receives Calls From Would Be
Buyers. Angelos Drivas, proprietor of the
building occupied by Waupaca Candy Kitchen, has secured a two years’ option for
the purchase of the Beadleston property at the corner of Main and West Fulton
street, now occupied by Ing. G. Larson, Jeweler, and Pioneer Hardware Store. Mr. Drivas also took a 15 year lease
of these stores and from and after February 17, the present tenants will pay
the rent to Mr. Drivas. DEMAND FOR LOCATION Without question this is one of the
best corner locations in Waupaca, and Mr. Drivas already has had several calls
by those to take over the option and lease at a figure to give him a
profit. Mr. Drivas will be in no haste
to dispose of his lease or his option as there is known to be an increasing
demand for favorite locations on Main Street of this city. Concerns that operate chain drug
stores, chain meat markets and other lines of business are looking to Waupaca,
with its increasing tourist and summer resort business, for a favorable
location in which to forge another link to their lengthening chain. MRS. ANDERSON TO MOVE. Mrs. Margaret Anderson, whose lease
on the store she now occupies in the Lord Block, will expire May 1, has already
signed a five-year lease on the Ware building at 215 N. Main. Several other tenants on Main
Street, are said to be consulting their leases to see when they will arrange
for other quarters, rather than submit to increases in rent which they believe
is already high enough. |
