THE REPUBLICAN

April 1, 1898

Richard Lea has commenced remarkable improvements upon the balance of his buildings, and Simon Jenson, the contractor, is hard at work getting ready to put in the plate glass fronts.  The arches have been removed and an iron girder put in to the H. M. Lea store, and every thing is nearly ready for the large plate windows.  Next the Barrington corner will be attacked and treated to the same modern improvement.  Henry Beadleston will commence improvements of like character on his block as soon as his brother, Hiram, returns from the South.
