MORE IMPROVEMENTS

T. Nelson Building a Four Story Brick Block on Fulton Street

Carl Nelson and Con Gminer have the contract to erect a four story brick block just east of Holly’s, Chr. Nelson’s old shoe shop.  The building is to be 60 x 20; built on solid and modern lines, for business and durability.  The two basements below the sidewalk level will be suitable for various lines of business or living rooms.  The street level will be occupied by Mr. T. Nelson with a first class shoe store, and he will have the Churchill shoe stock after September 15, at the time the building is expected to be all finished ready for Mr. Nelson.  Mr. Nelson says he will stock up the new store with first class lines, have an excellent repair shop in connection.  The upper story will be done off in a five room flat, fitted up with modern conveniences for that class of living rooms, safe, clean and serviceable.

The basement walls are being constructed and the brick and carpenter work will follow on as fast as possible, as soon as the walls are completed on the addition to Geo. James’ building on corner of Main and Sessions street.

Mr. E. L. Churchill will, as soon as possible after he closes out his stock to Mr. Nelson in the fall, remove to Oregon with a view of settling either at Portland or Glendale.  Mr. Churchill has been a hustling business man in Waupaca since opening the Churchill shoe store and it is quite a loss to the town to have such enterprising citizens leave, however, the REPUBLICAN can only say, may good luck and prosperity follow him.
