Waupaca Mud Turtle Business is Thriving at the Present Time
According to reports, the Waupaca mud turtle business is booming. Saturday, Leonard Button shipped eight barrels of mud turtles from Waupaca by express directed to a large city market.
This shipment consisted of 1757 pounds, enough to make many bowls of turtle soup in some of the fashionable restaurants, cafes and hotels of the large cities where turtles are served as a delicacy.
There are several parties in this section of Wisconsin who spend their entire time at capturing, barreling and expressing the clumsy turtle to market.
