WAUPACA REPUBLICAN

            We are now connected by telephone with the outside world, the wires between this city and Waupaca and Grand Rapids having reached here today and Manager Sackett is happy.

 

            The Helvetia Granite Co. of Iola, filed articles of association in the secretary of state’s office, yesterday, with a capital stock of $500,000.  The incorporators are M.C. Quimby, F.W. Livermore and George Dale.

 

            Frank Guernsey says the Clintonville Mining Company has its shaft down 65 feet, and is now making a cross cut.  The last assay gave $365 silver per ton.  He is confident that they have a silver mine that will pay to work.  It is located four miles from Wakefield.
