Waupaca Methodist Church

 

            Last Sabbath cleared up the conference year of Rev. D. J. Holmes at the Methodist church.  The society and friends of the church have done well in their support of the church and in their contributions to the great benevolent societies of the church.  The salary of the preacher was paid in full and was paid pleasantly.  During the past year the Ladies Aid Society have paid on their subscription $600 towards the church debt – all but $115 of it.  The Sunday school has a fine library of 183 Vols. At a cost of about $80. The supplies of lesson leaves, picture papers, children’s papers and leaf cluster a large picture of the lesson for each Sunday in the year cost $25.  About $100 has been paid on church debt leaving $500. The following benevolent collections have been taken.

            Besides Major R. N. Roberts noble contribution to Lawrence University of $500.

            The citizens of Waupaca have reason to be proud of the Methodist Church and Sabbath School and the work of the past year.
