BONSPIEL IS NOW ON
THREE GAMES HAVE BEEN PLAYED ON REGULAR SCHEDULE
Only three games have been played on the regular schedule in the last two weeks as the time has been taken up with the bonspiel. The games played resulted as follows: Campbell 10, Jardine 7; Fallgatter 11, Smith 8; Jardine 12, Scott, 9.
In arranging the bonspiel this year the committee made the mistake of making it a two out of three game tournament, which made a hard schedule for some of the teams, while others were held up in their games because they were eliminated early in the event. The committee made up the schedule and arranged the games believing it would prove more satisfactory than the one game arrangement, but it did not work out well.
Nelson’s rink again walked off with the cup and proved they are not at the top of the percentage column by accident, but are real curlers. We notice Walt wears his cap on the very peak of his head and we wondered why, but now we know. Johnson’s rink, which had not been curling to form this year, found themselves for a while during the bonspiel but got back tot heir slump by the time they met Nelson’s wonders and curled up under the sharpshooting of Walt’s boys, thereby losing out on the cup, also a feed we are told, but grabbing the cigars.
In the consolation Holst carried off the honors, smothering any feeble efforts of their opponents and thus coming into possession of the brooms, and we’ll say there was one guy on their team that needed a broom.
Games will be scheduled every night as long as the ice keeps cool.
