The Northwest Wins the Morgan Medal.
Waupaca wins two Games and Captures the District Medal from Baraboo.
The Waupaca Curlers returned from Milwaukee on Thursday, where they had been to participate in the contest for the Morgan, Dalrymple and Mitchell medals. The Morgan medal which was contested for on Tuesday by the Northwest vs. Milwaukee and Chicago, was won by the Northwest by a score of 72 to 57, to which number the Waupaca Club contributed ten points, they beating their opponents that number of points and making the second best score of the game. The medal will be held by McCullough’s Rink of St. Paul, which made the best score.
On Tuesday evening a grand banquet was given at the Kirby House, which was participated in by over two hundred happy curlers, during which, toasts were given, songs sung and speeches made; the festivities lasting until a late hour. Wednesday forenoon the Mitchell and Dalrymple medals were contested for and in the afternoon Waupaca and Baraboo had a tussel for the District medal, which was won by Waupaca. The curlers from Waupaca were H.W. Williams, Hugo Lea, Jeff Woodnorth, W.H. Rice, Sam Chandler, Chas. Hoffmann, and Will Holly.

HAPPY CURLERS
The representatives of the Waupaca Curling club, who went to Milwaukee on Monday last, came home Wednesday night in a pleasant frame of mind, for H.W. Williams, skip of the crack rink, bore with him the district medal, which the Waupaca boys won from Baraboo on Wednesday. The curlers who went down were H.W. Williams, Charles Hoffmann, Hugo Lea, Jeff Woodnorth, W.H. Rice, W. Holly and S.S. Chandler. Tuesday they competed for the Morgan medal, as part of the Northwest against Milwaukee and Chicago, and were victorious, though the medal went to A. McCullogh’s rink, Minneapolis. On Wednesday, in the play for the Dalrymple medal, the Waupaca rink was defeated by Hastings, Minneapolis rink, by a score of 190 to 10. In the contest for the distrit medal, though, the boys downed Baraboo and brought home the trophy. All the brae curlin’ men report a splendid time, and great sport.

The final contest between the “vet.” And “kid” curlers was won by the veterans, the score standing 16 to 6 in favor of the veterans. The oysters are ready. The curlers are now playing for points for the Rogers silver cup.
