WAUPACA
REPUBLICAN January
16, 1880 Curling
Club Waupaca may now boast a regularly
organized Curling Club, ready for the icy campaign of 1880. The following gentlemen constitute what may
be called the charter members: E. Coolidge,
H.W. Williams, Rev. F.C. Haddock, S.T. Oborn, W.A. West, T.L. Jeffers, Ed
Bailey, R. Bailey, J.O. Scott, A.R. Lea, D. Lytle, E.C. Bronson, Ed
Jeffers. The following are the officers
of the club: President, E. Coolidge Vice Pres’t, H.W.
Williams Secretary, J.O. Scott Treasurer, S.T. Oborn The boys marked out a rink on the
lake last Saturday morning and made it lively all day. On Monday they were not so sore with their
vigorous exercise but that they renewed their work. It is probable that before the close of the winter there will be
some lively games. As yet it has been
but mere practice. |
