THE REPUBLICAN

January 10, 1890

On Monday the American stars and stripes, and the Danish flag floated together over the Danes’ Home building in honor of the thirteenth anniversary of the order.  The Waupaca lodge is flourishing with seventy members in good standing, all debts paid, with a good building and lot owned by the society and money in the treasury.  They have a fair library started besides about fifty dollars worth of books all paid for which have not yet arrived.  The Scandinavian and American population of Waupaca and vicinity as a whole is composed of our most progressive and enterprising citizens.
