THE REPUBLICAN April 6, 1883 The gross receipts of the Dane’s Home Bazaar and Ball amounting to $410, which after all expenses are paid will net the society about $250. The affair was a complete success. Hans Georgeson drew the telescope, there being 520 votes sold on the contest between Georgeson and Woodnorth, ten cents each. Hugo Lea presented a dress pattern which was contested for by Misses Sine Johnson, Matilda Peterson and Julia Black. Over 479 votes were polled on the result. Elmer Sanfield and Nels Jensen “put-up” a lively for their respective “preferences”. Miss Johnson won the dress, receiving 221 votes; Miss Peterson 200; Miss Black 50. Miss Peterson then received a present from her backer of a nice watch and chain. |
