WAUPACA POST November (end of) 1884 The Menasha Press says of the Mansfield fire steamer
which this city has purchased on approval:
“The Press not being published in the interests of our up-line neighbor,
it little concerns it whether the Waupaca city parentals purchase a steamer or
not, but acting upon the principle of giving praise wherever praise is due, it
would say that the Mansfield is one of the best machines for the money ever
manufactured. The one purchased in this
city last June failed to meet its requirements only once (the Strange fire) and
it would not have in this instance had there been a heater attached to it – an
adjunct costing but $200, yet almost indispensable to any steamer’s successful
working. |
