THE WAUPACA POST February 26, 1885 The New DeVoin House Peter Jenson, of this city, the young architect who drew the plan for Waters for the court house, is getting up the plans and specifications for DeVoin’s new hotel. The POST has seen the arrangement of the ground floor and got the size of the building. The whole building will be three stories high, the main building 32 x 62 feet and the L. which joins on the west 32 x 50. The office will jut out on the piazza and its windows will command the whole of Main street. The south part of the first floor south of the hall will be used for private living rooms by Mr. D’s family. These will be finished inside and out in handsome residence style, with a handsome bay window in the south side. The building will contain forty-two sleeping rooms, and be furnished with all the modern conveniences practicable in a town of this size. |
