                                                                   Grand View Hotel to Open

The annual opening of the Grand View Hotel will take place this week Saturday evening at six o’clock with a dinner and social hop in the evening.  This favorite resort has much that is new to offer its patrons this season and it will be a surprise to our citizens to see what improvements have been made since the hotel has passed into the hands of the Grand View company.  Manager Caughell has proved himself a manager of no small ability and each season has but proved his popularity with the summer guests.  To a great extent the same heavy stockholders who own the stock in the hotel own the electric railway and the same care to have none but the best may be found in both concerns.  The lighting of the building and grounds by electric lights is a feature that can be found in none but the very best hotels in the summer business.  It does away with heat, work, and is a great protection against fire.  Sidewalks have been built about the place and every comfort has been added.  The current for the lights will be supplied by the Veterans’ Home and wires are now being run to have everything in readiness for the formal opening.  It is to be hoped that a good attendance will be present from the city.  Dinner will be served promptly at six o’clock for the usual price of seventy-five cents.  The following menu will be served:

                                                               Arrangements for Special Cars

Special cars will leave the corner for the Grand View dance on the half hour, the first section leaving at 7:30 and the second at 8:30 p.m.  The regular cars on the hour will leave as per the daily schedule.  This will give half hour service on the night of the dance.  The half hour service for the season will soon be put on.
