BASKET BALL REVIVED

Our High School basket ball team owing partly to non-success and partly to the poor support they have received have decided to disband. However, basket ball is not to die out in Waupaca, for the present at least, for some of our prominent townspeople have taken the matter up and have encouraged some of our young men to organize a city team, which has been done.

The new team will go under the name of the Waupaca Athletics and will be composed for the present of the following players:  Claude Paris, Don Dirimple, Frank Stratton, Frank Trimble and Truman Heaney.

Taking the players one by one in regard to their respective merits we have first, Claude Paris. He not only is the best all around man on the Stevens Point Athletics but has the reputation of being one of the very best all around players in the state and second to none as center.  Don Dirimple the second in the list is an old High school player and is a splendid guard and vary fast man. The third, Frank Stratt

on has played on the High school team three years, is a good forward and can always be relied upon to make his share of the points.  Frank Trimble, the fourth, although small in stature is a great on basket work.  He has a knack of getting under a man and throwing a basket which few possess.  Truman Heaney, the last on the list, was the crack guard on last years High school team.  He is strong and quick and pays strict attention to the one he is guarding so it takes a good man to get a basket off of him.

There is no reason why this team should not with proper support be able to bring basket ball laurels to Waupaca as did last years team.  First game will probably be played here March 9th with the London Athletics.  Watch for further notice.
