POPULATION OF WAUPACA COUNTY – This county is always misunderstood. The Milwaukee Sentinel of a late date, in speaking of the population of Waupaca County, makes no allowance for eight townships, with heavy population, which were not included in the census returns last spring. The estimate is that these towns contained a population in June last, of two thousand; which added to the census as returned, makes a population of 6,437. Considering that this County has nearly doubled since June, and many of the settlers are from different parts of this State, the vote, which amounts to 2,000 is not large. Some towns, no doubt, cast fully as heavy a vote as possible. - Waupaca Spirit
