E.F.U. PICNIC

Brief Outline of What will be on the Program

Although not fully arranged the committee have reported an outline of what will be doing Aug. 22 the day the Equitable Fraternal Union Picnic will take place in this city.

A reception committee will meet all trains and escort the visitors to headquarters where line of march will be formed and headed by the band, march to the picnic grounds at the head of Main Street.

At the picnic grounds will be rendered an excellent program consisting of speeches, dongs, music and recitations.

The principal address will be made by the Hon. C.E. Armin of Waukesha, Wis. Mr. Armin is a very pleasant and entertaining speaker and we know that you will all be pleased wit him.

After the exercises will come the noon hour. Ample accommodations are being made for all visitors.

There will be various amusements to interest the great crowd in the afternoon. Footraces, tug-of-war, a nail driving contest and various other athletic events are being arranged and prizes will be given.

The bands will play all afternoon. A good baseball game will be played at the Grand View Base Ball Park.

Others can find pleasure in a visit to the Chain o’ Lakes, the famous Wisconsin summer resort, and the Wisconsin Veterans’ Home.

Next will come the supper hour for which arrangements are being made.

In the evening it is planned to have a band concert, several good dances and a magnificent display of fireworks.

Something doing for everybody all the time.

A general committee meeting was held last evening and a uniform was adopted to be worn by all members of the Waupaca Lodge. The committee desires to have ….
