            GILL’S LANDING – The large tannery of Gill’s Landing, erected in 1866 at a cost of $25,000, has recently passed into the hands of a new firm, Messrs. McKay, Wright & Hunt.  They are making preparations to commence work immediately.  Gill’s Landing is a good point, being easily accessible for both hides and bark, and the leather can be easily shipped.
