- Perry of the Waupaca Criterion one day last week killed a yellow rattlesnake measuring 5 feet and 2 inches in length and having 13 rattles. We clip the following items:
- A lady, whose name we didn’t learn, living a few miles north of New London was recently delivered of three healthy children during one accouchment. Dr. Dickinson, of New London, attended her.
- According to a recent ‘count’ by Dr. Dickinson and Capt. Perry, the village of New London contains a little less than one thousand inhabitants. Weyauwega has a like number, and Waupaca probably contains twelve hundred.

- The Waupaca Criterion records the following accident:
- From L.S. Townsend we learn that our brother, Stephen L. Perry, was dangerously hurt last Wednesday, at New London. He was riding a horse at a very rapid pace, and carelessly ran upon an ox lying down, which rising up suddenly threw him violently from the horse, and the horse upon him, crushing the leg and knee badly and also injuring him internally. His injuries were so severe that it was thought his grave would have to be dug immediately, but a profuse bleeding by Dr. Dickinson has brought the boy out on crutches.
