LEG BROKEN BY AUTO Accident
on Main Street, Monday Morning - Animal
Shot by Humane Officer As Dr. McNaughton was turning away from the post office Monday morning and pulled out into the street so as to pass another rig an auto came from behind and caugfht the left fore-leg of the horse and broke it below the knee. The horse was taken to the rear of Whipple & Felker’s livery barn and on the advice of Dr. G.H. Atkinson, veterinarian, was shot by Chris J. Larson, county humane officer. The auto is owned by P.C.A. Peterson and was driven by Hans Peterson of this city. A the driver of the car was watching vehicles that he met, he did not observe the horse that was turned well out into the street until too late to avoid striking the animal as he did. The accident is much regretted by all concerned. |
