KKK Charter

The Waupaca Unit, Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, had a charter delivered them at a large and enthusiastic meeting of its members Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1927.  The name of the Waupaca unit is Wau-pa-kaw, and is taken from the Menominee Indian language. This means “one brave warrior”.  Ralph M. Hammond of Milwaukee, Wis., present Grand Dragon of this state, delivered the charter.
