REPUBLICAN

February7, 1896

We publish this week a poem copied from the Inter Lake, Kalispell, Montana, written by Wm. B. Mumbrue, brother of Postmaster Mumbrue of this city, who many of the earlier residents of this county will remember.  Long before the government survey was completed, Mr. Mumbrue completed a survey commencing at a point on government survey east of Wolf River running thence west.  This survey of Mumbrue formed the basis of boundaries of claims in this locality.  He was register of deeds and supt. of schools and for a long time was interested in steamboats on the Wolf River and warehouses at Gill’s Landing. His old acquaintances will be pleased to learn that he is hale and hearty at seventy.
