THE WAUPACA POST

December  20, 1888

It is perhaps not generally known that there is a regularly organized Woman’s Suffrage Association in this city, but there is, and it meets the last Wednesday of each month at the Business Men’s Rooms.  The object of the Association is not as the name might imply, simply to obtain for women the right to vote.  That is only a minor consideration, the probability of the realization of the scheme being too remote to awaken much interest.  The main object is to meet and discuss questions relating to the government and such other matters as woman ought to know, if she should ever obtain the ballot.  The meetings are both interesting and profitable.
