Weyauwega

Is situated in section 4, town 21 Range 14 on the left bank of the Waupaca River, Weyauwega has one of the best water powers in northern Wisconsin, on which is a Superior Flouring Mill, one Saw Mill with two saws, and which is about to be improved and enlarged to 8 saws, and a machine shop added.  There is one steam sawmill in operation and another building.  Weyauwega is near enough to Wolf River to receive the benefits accruing to a commercial village. There is one Railroad (the Ripon & Wolf River) surveyed and located to this place, and another (the Berlin Wolf River & Waukecheon) about being organized, which is to make Weyauwega a point on the road.

And the Manitowoc, Stevens Point and Mississippi Railroad will undoubtedly pass through Weyauwega, as this village lies directly on an air line from Menasha to Stevens Point.  This road is under contract to Menasha, and partly graded.

With these prospects before us having a population of about 2,000, and a growing manufacturing interest already established and being, now, by steamboat and railroad within 15 hours travel of Milwaukee the commercial emporium of Wisconsin, and 4 hours by steamboat, of Oshkosh, and being surrounded by sober, intelligent and thriving community, we invite the manufacturer, the Laborer, the Mechanic, the Tradesman and Farmer to make his home with us.                           Weyauwega.
