HUDSON MOTOR CAR CO. SEND S.D. SHAMBEAU NEW ESSEX ROADSTER

C.H. Rickenbach and H.D. Sorg of Detroit, Mich., and A.W. Kaufman of Oshkosh, representing the manufacturers of the Essex Motors car, were in the city Saturday to confer with S.D. Shambeau regarding the breaking of the transmission of his Essex Motors car which resulted in the accident by which Mr. Shambeau and his brother-in-law, Rush Teuton, sustained serious injuries.

Thursday morning Mr. Kaufman, district manager of Oshkosh, Mr. Sorg of Detroit and O.A. Richter, agent for the Hudson and Essex cars at Weyauwega, arrived in Waupaca with a brand new roadster which they presented to Mr. Shambeau in exchange for the roadster in which he was riding at the time of his accident. The damaged car will be shipped back to Detroit where it will be thoroughly inspected and tested in an effort to ascertain the cause of breakage. Mr. Sorg stated that the Engineering Dept. of the Hudson Co., are absolutely unable to account for the accident, the chief engineer of the company having gone on record that it is unprecedented in the history of the company. If this is an indication of the policy and service of the Hudson Motor Car Co., it is certainly a broad one.
