REPUBLICAN POST January 21, 1909 DIED. The
death of Mrs. Elizabeth Cornwell occurred at he home of her daughter, Mrs. W.
D. Parish in Lind last Friday. The
deceased was born in the state of New York, Feb. 25, 1825, and came to
Wisconsin in 1857. She was married to
Selah Cornwell in the year of 1859 and came to Waupaca County in 1860. She had
made her residence in Scandinavia, Iola and Amherst before coming to
Waupaca. Here she lived from the early
‘70s until about three years ago when with her husband she went to live with
her daughter in Lind. Her companion
passed away on the 19th of last December and she was heard to say on
the date of his burial that, it would not be long before she would follow. Her health and strength had not been the
best for some months before her death. Early
in life she had been a Quaker. The
funeral services of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Parish in Lind on Monday, Jan. 18, Rev.
Webster Millar officiating, where a goodly number of friends were gathered to
pay their last respects to the departed.
Interment was made in the Lakeview cemetery of this city. |
